![]() For the last several years, the Archdiocese of Hartford has participated in the 40 Days for Life Campaign which is a national pro-life campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion around the world. The campaign is not a demonstration or protest; it is prayerful and conducted with the utmost respect for all. The campaign begins on September 24 and ends on November 2, our parish of St. Augustine together with St. Anne-Immaculate Conception in Hartford will be part of this campaign on Saturday, October 25, 2014. There are two parts to this campaign, prayer before the Most Blessed Sacrament and prayerful Vigil before the Abortion Clinic in Hartford. Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament will be offered in Saint Augustine Church. There will be sign up sheets available before and after the Masses during the weekend and you may sign up by calling the parish office during the week (Monday to Friday) leading up to Saturday, October 25. I encourage you to consider taking an hour to pray before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and/or standing in prayerful vigil before the Abortion Clinic. The power of prayer can never be underestimated. For more information please click here. With this, I would like to also mention that the Church has many resources to help women and men who are grieving a pregnancy loss or a loss of a child in an abortion. I mention this because often times many women and men in these cases suffer alone, in some cases, for many years without any support. I encourage anyone who is in this situation to visit the website for Project Rachel and/or the Villa Maria Guadalupe Retreat House by the Sisters of Life and/or you may call the Pro-Life Office of the Archdiocese of Hartford (203) 639-0833.
